Before opening the screen material
Clear a clean floor area larger than the finished screen, verify all frame components, and keep sharp objects away from the optical surface. Large screens are awkward to handle and usually benefit from two people.
Confirm orientation
Fresnel and other directional UST surfaces have a correct top and bottom. Installing the surface upside down can severely reduce performance. Follow the specific installation markings and manual for your variant.
Build and square the frame
Assemble the frame on a flat surface and confirm the diagonals match before tensioning or attaching the optical material. A skewed frame can make projector alignment unnecessarily difficult.
Mount with the projector geometry in mind
Use the projector's exact installation chart to determine screen height and offset. It is easier to mount the screen correctly once than to compensate with digital keystone correction later.
Final alignment
Get the projector physically square to the screen before using digital correction. Small UST alignment errors can create large geometry problems at the image edges.
